Project Description

Calligraphy Yoga is both innovative and deeply rooted in the traditional holistic practices of India and China. It brings the body’s Yin and Yang back into balance, creating a feeling of happiness that comes from within.

Each movement practiced  is natural, feels enjoyable and opens up the healing process for your body, mind and spirit. Hence, Calligraphy Yoga is suitable for anyone who wants to improve physical health, strengthen psychological resilience and cultivate internal energetic reserves.

Gently improving your health

The fundamental purpose of Calligraphy Yoga is to prolong life by increasing internal energy (Qi). Flexibility will come with time as the body loosens. There will be no need to force tendons or ligaments.

Just as a fish moves effortlessly in all directions, or a baby moves without effort or tension, Calligraphy Yoga builds a natural body balance where movement becomes free-flowing, light, easy and intuitive.

The health of the body is profoundly influenced by Calligraphy Yoga. Ailments such as asthma, disc problems, muscle soreness, even old injuries improve or drop away. Movement becomes freer and looser as the body grows stronger and healthier, more balanced and in-tune with nature.

Some of the key benefits of a regular practice are:

  • Weight loss & body toning
  • Increased blood circulation
  • Injury prevention & rehabilitation
  • Reduced stress & anxiety
  • Increased flexibility
  • Improvement of chronic illnesses (asthma, arthritis, migraines)
  • Healthier body systems
  • General sense of well being

The perfect blend of technique and philosophy

Calligraphy Yoga originates in the fusion of 4 long established traditions:

  • The principles of Tai Chi focus on smooth and effortless movement
  • Chinese Qigong adds an understanding of internal energy and of Dantian as an energetic centre
  • Indian Yoga bring a physiological structure and form to the movements
  • Chinese calligraphy brings a 3 dimensional flow and link to the movements that are both intuitive and graceful.
